In order to begin work on your latest and undoubtedly greatest creation, simply click on the any of the create buttons found throughout olioboard.com.
Images can be dragged from the items panel onto your Olioboard. Use the tabs at the top of the panel to search through brands, categories your own collection of items and the community’s items. Can’t find what you want? No problem, just upload your own items from your computer or use our browser clipper to collect and save items anywhere online to your olioboard account.
Back to TopImages can be removed from the Olioboard by selecting the item you wish to delete and hitting the remove button in the toolbar or by selecting the item and hitting the delete button on your keyboard.
Click and drag the zoom slider down to zoom out, and up to zoom in
If you are currently working on your olioboard and want to save it to work on at a later date, click on the ‘Save Draft’ button. The save draft button will keep your board saved and private until you are ready to publish it. Once you feel that your board is ready to show to the community, click the ‘Publish’ button. This will open a lightbox where you can finalize your board by adding a description, tags, etc...
A published board is a public board so if you want to keep your work private, just continue to use the save draft button.
All image adjustments are handled through the toolbar. The toolbar appears when you click on an image on your Olioboard.
In order to make an image larger or smaller, first click on the image you wish to adjust. From there, you can either drag the orange handle on the image outward to make it larger or push it in to make it smaller. Please note: the orange handle will also affect the rotation of the image unless you check lock rotation on the toolbar.
In order to rotate an image, first you must click on the image you wish to adjust. From here, you can either drag the orange handle on the image clockwise or counter clockwise. Please note: the orange handle will also affect the scale of the image unless you check lock scale on the toolbar.
In order to add a frame to an image or change an existing frame, click the frame icon on the toolbar. From here you will be able to select from a number of frame styles
In order to adjust the viewable area of an image, click the crop icon on the toolbar. From here you will be able to select the shape of the crop. Adjust the size of the crop by dragging the orange crop points until the desired area is visible. Press the ‘apply changes’ button to finalize changes.
There are two ways to bring images to the front or back of your Olioboard. The first is by clicking on the ‘back’ or ‘ahead’ icons which are located on the toolbar. This will move the image up or down one layer. You can also adjust the later by clicking on the ‘to front’ and ‘to back’ icons which are located on the toolbar. This will move the image all the way to the front or back of the Olioboard.
To flip an image on either the x or y axis, use the flip button (flips image horizontally) or the flop button (flops image vertically) located on the toolbar.
As long as your account remains active, your Olioboard will be safe in the system.
Back to TopYou can remove the background from an image by clicking the box next to remove background which is located on the toolbar. If the desired effect is not achieved by clicking the remove background box, settings can be adjusted by clicking on advanced options on the toolbar. This will bring you to the advanced options screen.
Sample Color: Clicking this will allow you to select any color in your image to be removed. If an image appears on a coloured background, select the background color to remove it.
Current Selection: The last color selected through the Sample Color tool will be displayed here.
Adjust Darkest Color Removed: This slider selects the darkest shade that will be removed from the background.
Feather Selection: Sometimes, the edges will appear slightly jagged when the background of an image is removed. This slider will adjust the softness of the edges. Simply drag the slider to the right to soften the image’s edges more.
Once you are happy with the changes you have made, click on apply changes for them to take effect. If you wish to reset the changes you have made, you can do so by clicking on the reset button.
New items and sets are saved everyday, and it couldn't be easier to take advantage of them to build your Olioboard. Simply visit the Explore Items page to find items to save to your library.
Back to TopYou can upload items 2 ways. To upload items to your olioboard account click on the “Upload Items” button in the blue header.
You can either upload items from your computer or save items directly to your Olioboard account from anywhere online using our browser clipper.
Select the “from computer” option in the Upload Items dropdown menu.
Next, click the “Add Images” button and a browser window will open allowing you to select the images you wish to upload from your computer’s hard drive. Once you’ve selected the images, click the “Upload the Items” button. Upload times will vary based on connection speed and the number of images being uploaded.
Once the images have been uploaded you will be prompted to enter a name, description and tags for your images, making it easy to search for them later. You can also set the image to private or public. The public setting allows other users to access your image for use in their own Olioboard.
Select the “browser add-on” option in the Upload Items dropdown menu.
Our browser clipper allows you to collect images from your favourite sites and save them directly to your olioboard account to add to your moodboards. Just click on the link above and follow the steps to add the clipper to your account.
Back to TopThere are two ways to create a set within the Olioboard website. One way is to visit your “my items” page, and select the check boxes under the items you wish to create a set out of. Once you have selected all the items you want, you can click the “add selected to a set” button. This will open a lightbox where you can either add these items to an old set or create a new set.
You can also collect individual items from the homepage, explore page and item detail pages on Olioboard. Simply rollover an item you wish to add to a set and click on the orange plus sign. This will open the same lightbox as mentioned above. From there you can choose to create a new set or add the item to an older set.
Olioboard is fully functional in the latest version of your favourite flash enabled web browser.

Back to TopYes. Olioboard is now available on the iPad. You can now browse products, save items to sets and create moodboard designs on the go. We are in the process of incorporating our new pro tools into the iPad now. They should be available in the coming months.
Back to TopFirst, find the Olioboard you wish to change the settings on by selecting “Olioboards” in the “me” dropdown. From there you can choose the specific board in your olioboard collection. On the Olioboard detail page you will find the “settings” button (just underneath the large image of your board). Clicking this button will open a page where you can edit the board name, privacy setting, description, tags, etc...
Back to TopTo view to your items, click “items” in the “me” dropdown menu. This will open a page with all the items you have uploaded and collected.
If you are in the moodboard creator, simply click the “my items” tab in the right side panel. All the items you have collected will appear in this panel.
Select the “profile ” option in the “me” dropdown. When you are on your profile page click the “edit profile” button. From there your can edit you profile picture, bio, contact info, etc...
Back to TopWhenever you upload a new item to your library you have the choice of making it public. When you make it public it then becomes available for others to use in the Olioboard community library. We encourage you to share your images whenever possible so our Library can continue to grow.
Back to TopIf you would prefer to keep your moodboards private, continue to use the 'save draft' button when saving your work. If you click the 'publish' button your board will become public. If you have a board that is currently public and you wish to make it private, just go to the board detail page. Click on the “settings” button. It will open a page where you can edit the board information, including an option to make the board private.
Your password can be changed from “My Account” found at the top right of each page next to “Logout.” From account settings, simply select the “change password” option, create a new password and save it.
Back to TopTags are a great way for users to categorize and organize their Olioboards and their images. The tag associated with an image is what is considered when populating search results.
